Free Sensory Gym Sponsored by Shelter Insurance

719 Fight Team is now adding to it’s free programs for kids we offer with a free sensory day for kids with Sensory Processing Disorder and Autism.

Sensory processing disorder is a condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information that comes in through the senses.

Formerly referred to as sensory integration dysfunction, it is not currently recognized a a distinct medical diagnosis.

Some people with sensory processing disorder are oversensitive to things in their environment. Common sounds may be painful or overwhelming. The light touch of a shirt may chafe the skin.

Others with sensory processing disorder may:

  • Be uncoordinated
  • Bump into things
  • Be unable to tell where their limbs are in space
  • Be hard to engage in conversation or play

Sensory processing problems are usually identified in children. But they can also affect adults. Sensory processing problems are commonly seen in developmental conditions like autism spectrum disorder.

We would be the first to offer this free in Colorado Springs to the public. We currently have a sponsor to fund this each month.
What this fundraiser is for is to buy a few materials such as a ball pit, sensory swings and toys.
We will turn our gym around to make this happen for a few hours for the benefit of these beautiful kids! $5, $10 anything helps. I can get toys for $6, Swings for $40 to $70.
All our time will be donated just like the Free Kids MMA classes already in place at 719.
We are gonna get started within the next month with what we can afford at the moment. Any donations would greatly help this cause.
